Zapata County Museum of History April featured speakers

Last month's topic was “Importance of Family Search and Opportunities for the development of Family Genealogy.” It was presented by Elders Monnett, Rathmell, Jones and Young, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Participants were able to view the  website and learn how to develop their family tree and scan family photographs and documents. Other websites that enhance research and presentation were also explored. Several local family trees were demonstrated. Those in attendance were offered the opportunity to receive free one-on-one training on a scheduled day at their convenience.

Due to popular demand this session was repeated for those who missed it and for the benefit of those who are ready for a hands-on approach. The Elders made a very informative and productive presentation. This was an excellent topic for beginning researchers who are wanting to learn how to get started and for the seasoned researcher who is ready to digitize their findings.
